I always suspected there is a pulse divider inside the speedo unit. I only recently got an oscilliscope, so I never got a chance to check that theory out. Although I'm pretty sure that's what happens.

Spent a while researching this one.

Their are two wires from the speed sensor in the CA18 manual box that run up to the speedo unit. Then their is a wire from the speedo to the ecu.

Does anyone know if anything happens in the speedo unit in regards to the signal sent to the ecu? Is just a pulse feed from the sensor?
