a few of us from datnet and the sydney datsun club are doing it again this year !

we raised a bit of money last year and a few of us attended the gala party at luna park which was great fun !

datnet movember

if you want to join our team read this :

This November datnet.org has decided to get hairy and grow a moustache for Movember.

We want to be an active participant in the movement that is changing the face of men's health. we're also committed to tackling men's health issues and being proactive in the fight against men's depression and prostate cancer...and we want you on our team. Our team is called datnet.org.

To join the datnet.org Movember team go to http://au.movember.com/au/register and follow the steps. Once registered you'll be sent all the information you need to get donations and get growing as part of our Movember team.

You will need these details to complete your online registration:

Captain's Registration Number: 1366261
Captain's Email Address: jono@datnet.org

Men's health is a major issue. Did you know:

Depression affects 1 in 6 men....most don't seek help. Untreated depression is a leading risk factor for suicide.
Every year 2,900 Australian men die from prostate cancer and over 18,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer.
The money raised by Movember is used to raise awareness of men's health issues and donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and beyondblue: the national depression initiative. The PCFA and beyondblue will use the funds to fund research and increase support networks for those men who suffer from prostate cancer and depression.

For those that have supported Movember in previous years you can be very proud of the impact it has had and can check out the details at:
[ Fundraising Outcomes ].

Cheers

Movember Is upon us once again and although in previous years I have not donated (but I have done the moustache), this year will be different. I will shave my beard in the shape of a 'Rodriguez' style Mo or mabey just a traditional handlebar and donate what $$ I can spare. I guess every $50 counts.

Given the amount of cancer that has been found in my family it is only natural that i should get tested for the various types that have been rife. Prostate, tumours (brain, bowell & bone) skin and leukaemia. A yearly blood test is how I achieve any change in blood cells that will indicate any need for further testing. Not entirily foolproof but I don't want a finger shoved up my bum until I meet a fella I like!

Not Datsun related, I know. But you can't enjoy your datsun if your dead.

prostate cancer
