1986 was the last year that Nissan Australia imported them for sale within Australia, but manufacture continued on for quite a while.
To answer the question that you actually asked, manufacture was discontinued in Japan in 1992.[corrected to 1994] This was the Datsun Sunny 1200 Ute, however manufacture of a Datsun 1200 "derived" Ute, the South African built 'Bakkie' was not discontinued untill December 2007 & new vehicles held in stock were expected to supply demand untill the replacement vehicle could be prepared & offered in the marketplace, which is about now.
So you have two dates. The ONLY year that 'they' stopped making Datsun Sunny 1200 Utes was 1992[corrected to 1994] & the 'last time' that they stopped making a vehicle that was Datsun 1200 ute based was 2007.
