Gotta agree with you on that one but young mat asked "where I" not "should I". Yes they do look good for a while. You can always tell when you are having an issue with a covered roof. When it rains your head lining fills with water. SEEN THAT TO!

If ya talking straight over the existing roof. Would recommend staying away. In my experience they start out good but over time they become water traps and we all know what happens when water gets trapped in places. Especially in a roof around screens and along the gutters. Have removed a few and they all had degrees of rust under them.

Any reputable auto trimmer can do the job for you. Have you considered that fabric look material I am sorry I don't remember the name of the stuff you'll see a lot of rod soft tops done in it . I saw that done on a Coupe and it looked very slick.
