well i replaced the hose connecting the top half of the manifold to the bottom half with a genuine nissan part. the new part was about 30mm longer and nice and bendy instead of hard and crusty. this made it a breeze to put on in comparison.
i did this last friday (as in a week ago) and she still wouldn't start and then when i tried to start it to show dad what was happening on the sunday it was dead flat, as in absolutely no charge at all so we hooked up one of the trickle chargers we have for the motorbikes and it finally got to full charge today (1 week later). so then today i went to start it again and she just absolutely purrs beautifully. it idled high at first but this was because the throttle was hitting on one of the hose clamps keeping it slightly open.
weird huh?
needless to say i'm absolutely over the moon right now
thanks to everyone that helped me

Even sounds like the Air Flow Meter is unplugged... if they run one.

I think you put the petrol feed/return on the wrong way.

longer pipe shouldnt be a problem. Another option is to get a ca18det and attach it where the ca20e sits ;)

hi guys can someone please help me.
today i pulled off my cam cover, exhaust manifold and the top half of my intake manifold off my ca20 to clean them. all was going well until when it was all back together and wouldn't start. when i start it it will kick over and fire but sounds real rough and dies pretty much straight away. i kept it going once by using partial throttle but she sounded real rough. she also seems to shake a lot more than normal while it's starting. i think it could be one of the breather hoses that goes into the intake manifold that is not connected properly as the manifold needs to be real close to for the hose to reach and when it's this close i can't get to the hose because the manifold and fuel rail/lines are in the way.

any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
