the sumps all interchange just depends on the crossmember shape .but i would say you would use a 200b sump and oil pick up going of the way the cross member goes

Sweet mate. Will see what pepper wants to do. Would hope to work out whats best and easiest for him and you. Will go with whatever really. Guess if we add an inch of clearance to the top of the L16 we should be right. Also i think the sumps are different on L20B. Do you know about that ? Will do some homework this week got a mate with a L16 L18 And L20.

That would be good (From Andys point of view) Though the L16 is a smaller engine Height wise the L20B are a bit taller but i guess we can take that in to account when its getting made. Could measure it all in total and in stages like block height head height etc.. Thanks buzz

it you use a H145 H150 1200BW or 120yBW you can just get the auto tailshaft to suit that diff and it should work with any of the short gearbox's...which i think the stanza 4 speed is.

120yBW would would be the strongest of all them and its the same diff that was used in 200bs so it will be plenty strong enough

next choice would be a 1200BW as the axles in them are bigger than 145 and 150 axles

when making the engine crossmember you will definately need a sump on the block so that you stand any sorta chance of fitting the engine later
you will also probably need a head with the standard inlet manifold on it, coz the carby base is flat on the inlet manifold so if you get that level then the rest of the engine should be on the right angle

with the 180b gearbox crossmember, you will need to get the 180b chassis mounts aswell, or make some up that are the same style
and the crossmember can be moved wherever to suit the gearbox and engine possition as you just slide the mounts up or down the chassis rail....have a look in my album, or search gearbox crossmember

for tailshaft you are best off to get a bluebird one piece tailshaft and have it shortened to suit coz as far as i know there is no bolt in tailshaft for when using a ute diff
