the main spring is the longest spring that has the eyelets as for brake options im not sure what other datsun models were brought into south africa youd be best talking to one of our other south african members try velocity or kulodugroen (i think thats how you spell it)

thanks for the ideas... its a bit difficult to get lowering springs for the car around here, so ill have to try and cut down a nissan 1400`s. as for the reverse leaf pack... which one is the main leaf? the long one on the top? or the small one on the bottom? thanks everyone for the comments... just dropped off the doors and bootlid for panelbeating today... photos on the way...

Well after 10 years I finally installed my rear bumper. It was to rusted to install so I sanded it down, treated the rust and Hammerite painted it black. It looked so good that I did the same to the front bumper. I liked the chrome but it wasn't worth re-chroming.

Hi rafels. long time, no hear. Yes, go with the original type chrome bumpers it will look good. Unfortunately we can't get them here in USA, but new ones are sold in Australia.

For lowering there are three main options:

1. Lowering blocks. Quick and inexpensive. Work well for a street car, but not the best for circuit racing.
2. Cut-down springs (or new lowering springs). Probably the best method, the only method for the front.
3. Reverse-leaf pack. My 1200 has this, main leaf is put on upside down and clamps the other leafs tight. This is a no-cost option but makes the spring setup very stiff.

with the rear diff try blocks to lower the body, thats the cheapest way,

look through "wiki" theres few ideas there for front ends/brakes

ey people... im all the way from sunny South Africa. im fixing up my 1972 datsun delux, and im in serious need of new bumpers. some people said i should get the nissan 1400 bumpers, and make them fit, but i like the chrome original bumpers... the car is in small bits at the mo, and ive got a subaru mechanic working on the engine, and a friend working for a panel shop working on the body. im also looking for some ideas on lowering the car, especially the rear. any ideas would really help, and then also a brake upgrade, some parts that will fit without to much cutting and welding. thanks... all help will be appreciated.

PS.. photos will be uploaded as the work progreses, but im still figuring out how to do it...
