For that money you could probably take a standard manifold (free), cut the top off and have welded on two flat plates, drill holes in them and stick say 2 Ford Cortina 2000 Downdraft webers (maybee $75 a piece?) on top with home made linkages or even a 2 cable throttle system. Sounds wierd but then . . . it'd work ! Or Buy an L18SSS engine and . . . . thats another story

I bought a brand new set of su's from Midel, with linkages they set me back about $850. They have been excellent to deal with very helpfull on the phone when buying different needles and springs. Su's are easy to get bits for I had trouble finding parts for the hitachis. and by the time I did the cost wasn't worth overhauling them.

Mine went for 1/2 that on here but its up to what you want.
SUS are great carbs, easy to setup and simple
Yet well set up weber 32/36 or a 2 barrel holley will perform very well in a mild to hot in the listed order.

Don Revvhead has a 32/36mm (290cfm max) $100
I have a Holley 2 barrel 38/38mm (350cfm max) for $150.
Holley has no jets or needles just adjusting screw.

Both just need adapters onto your standard manifold.

For twin SU's on an aftermarket manifold that is an awfull lot, but for a genuine twin Hitachi GX induction system complete, well I guess the market finds its own level.
