Yes it does it says that on there website comes engineer certified or some crap like that but that doesnt mean that the car is engineered. Everything comes at a cost

i spoke to an engineer here in melb and he was happy for the cut out to be done

he wanted 3mm plate welded to the front and back for bracing, but was happty to engineer it like that

he wanted the ends of the bracing plate cut in an eliptical shape, a bit hard to explain but if you speak to an engineer they should be ok with it

me?
yeah when i put the L series in there i got over the stock tunnel real quick and replaced it with something that had a bit more room, and the L series crossmember has the same notch and lots of sump work to get it sitting where it is

CA was alot easier as you cant really do anything to the sump coz of the crank girdle, but i had to take the small hump out of the CA sump so it cleared that crossmember anyway

and i'll have to do more tunnel work when i go to an SR gearbox anyway as im currently using a stumpy box and its ####

did anyone say the crossmember with the cut out was engineerable?

heres my CA one, all i did was sit the engine in the bay after the stock mounts were cut off, then make up some cardboard templates of what the new mounts would look like
then transfer that to some decent sized steel plate and check again that it all fits
then tack them together and sit the engine back on, if its still where you want it then weld it all up

took me a couple of hours to do as i wanted the engine as low as it could go so that it sorta matched where the L series is sitting now

thanks mate, ..... ive been on your buildup through wiki theres sum good ideas there, ive seen this pic ....

the back one more likely be the better one, have ya a pic of that on its own,
why did you cut the member lower so less mod to the tunnel?,
i was strictly told not to cut the member out, only to change the mounting
