LOL if i got one of them little 12v fans i think i would put his fingers in it lol yeah he said hes done it to a few dattos, he said theres basically two ways he can do it, one is to run it through the main system so like with the heating and everything and the other is as suggested on the passenger side but tucked up so it doesnt take alot of room ( how he intends to do it im not sure) but he said that he did install one into a 1200 about 12 months ago and the guy supplied what he wanted - basically he built it in between the seats ( usually its just a blank firewall into the tray) but he attatched it there and ran it so that it could be controlled through buttons near the radio i found that one weird as and all i could imagine was just this box kind of sitting in the middle of no where.
hes showed me the diagrams and all so he knows what im after depends if i want to put it in the passenger side which personally i think is useless because then the passenger gets all the air or i can find my own air con unit that will fit and he will put i in through the main system for about $150 probaly not even.

$300! That's really good, you sure he knows what you are after?

You'd be pissed if you picked up the car and he attached one of those little blue electric 12v fans!!

i figured it would be a pain to install theres a place down the road from me and i was talking to the guy down there today - he rekons he can get me new unit and have it installed for $300 i was avoiding putting it in the passenger side but it might be the only way to go about it

L series and a series compressors i have for my install are all the same size and mount to the L and a seires brackets the same, but the bracket that mounts to the blocks are different.

The a series bracket i have has a tensioner pulley on it to tighten the belt. L series doesnt for some reason.

so you will need double belt pulley for the front of the crank
under dash unit
mounting brackets
compressor
condensor
dryer (bout the zie of a stuby)
the lines and some wiring for it.

thats the basics but retro fitting it all means drilling through the fire wall too.

I have an dealer option under dash unit and a factory unit integrated with heater and air con from a 79 sunny sedan. (could be made to fit but will chew up heaps of room in the 1200 passenger foot well).

I have dummy fitted under dash unt, no probs with the dealer option one, and compressor(fouls on the a15 engine mount brackets on there ... only just though).

can be done but is not as easy as even i envisaged.

You could look into the units the hot rodders use.

The hot rod suppliers have all sorts off cool aftermarket things that are generic fit.
