Got a Mig or Tig? Chop the end of in a drop or band saw real close to the end and reweld a servicable end back on in it's place.
I've done this 4 times now with great sucess and without balancing issues.

If you end up with "the vibes"then shoot it off for a balance.

It has factory permanent fitted unis which I need to have machined out and the removable type fitted. Don't have the access to that gear out here. Any sort of machine work has to be sent away. My closest engine machinest is a 6 hour drive away in Dalby. I am so out in the boonies. Don't get me wrong! Driveline do good work, I just think they wouldn't do much for me. It got very personal. We came out here when my wife was appointed to a school out this way. So I work for her now.

I have a tailshaft that needs repair. Anyone live near either of their 2 workshops, Acacia Ridge or Brendale? If I was to take it to them, I think it would come back worse than they got it. I used to work for them and I didn't make to many friends when I left. I told the boss he needed to relocate the business and sujested just where he should put it.
