What about the Nismo MK-63 4-pot aluminum calipers? They are designed for 280Z, will they fit 280ZX?

B310 with A14/A15 used 88.9 mm (3.5") caliper bolt spacing.

very much doubt that the z32 rears would be enough, they use a tiny pad and the pistons are midgets also....just coz they are twin piston calipers doesnt really mean much as they are doing the same job as a single piston caliper of the same piston size would do

infact id go as far as saying that a stock coupe caliper would be just as good apart from the solid disc VS vented disc

Nick, as mentioned Wilwoods will be the ticket. They made a bolt on for ZX carriers. One thing to keep in mind for 13" rims; the top of the caliper needs something like 8-10MM milled off to fit inside a 13" wheel and will still need a wheel spacer. I too have the 2 ton ZX Calipers on my car and will eventually use Wilwoods. We used Wilwood calipers on the sports racer and they work very well. Also for a mildy tuned engine like mine the ZX brakes are overkill but they came with the racing suspension I bought 15 years ago, so I've used them ever since.

As far as I know and I have been at it for a while now, there isn't an easy answer to that one Nick. The commodore calipers have a 3" spacing, but apart from that they are quite compact (they do fit in 13s I have done it) and quite lightweight (half al. alloy). In the 3.5" spacing, IMO wilwoods are about your best option. You could engineer some OEM four pots from Nissan/Mitsi/Mazda/Subaru/whatever but to get them to fit in 13s is a big ask. Not impossible though. But tricky. Early Z has a cast iron two pot caliper not particularly light and whether it's any better or worse than the 280ZX caliper i don't know. You can still get sel kits and pistons for 280ZX calipers I overhauled the ones on my old rally car last year.

There was a kit selling on ebay for wilwood calipers but I can't find the link.. maybe adapting something yourself would be the best bet, try find some cheap wilwoods from the US for 10"x19mm rotors and go from there.

I am using the standard heavy zx calipers for now, I just got some lighter 13's instead.
