petrol is 105 US cents per ltr now, so thats US$1.05. diesel is stil at 85cents.
as to the hourly wage equiv - it depends on the job hey...
I earn more than that at the mo, but then, i'm a consultant - not full time employed.

Ethan, glad to hear it is now fixed. How much does petrol cost in ZW now? 4 liters is one hour's wage?

Try another set of spark leads, had a issue like that 2 weeks ago, replaced the coil and all, was better, but after a lead change the old toyota was running like a new one.

i meant the breathers for the fuel bowls on the carbs... when the air cant come out it stops the fuel comming through... you`d see if you had to open it that the fuel will fall into it when it gets air... so just check that out.. cause it also doesnt fire when its not getting fuel XD

hey ethen, you should look if its getting fuel... i had the same prob kinda except the pipes comming out of the fuel float bowl so that it doesnt vacume were blocked... if you you clean them out it might sort out that prob... or it has to do with the fuel lines and breathers by the tank i had a problem where it vacumed there.. but try those pipes.. if you understand what i`m saying

When you get cap and leads make sure you get a rotor button aswell. I had same problem, it was a dead lead and a cracked rotor button.
One usually follows the other. If your spark plug gaps were too big or your lead has too much resistance. Electricity is lazy and will always take the path of less resistance. This is why it will arch across the button or cap and generally under load (driving up a hill).
Look very carefully for cracks in the button and cap. It doesnt even need to be a crack, it can be a line of carbon deposits (burn mark).
Good luck

Intermitant problems are always the worst. From what you have explained, it sounds like one of two things to me. a) a dirty fuel filter or b) the coil is breaking down, but only sometimes.

Points that fail typically dont get better again, its usually a one way street with those babies.

let us know how you get on.

cheers
benny

but if my firing order was not right, it would be a constant problem, correct?

this isnt a constant, sometimes it runs smooth, sometimes, it runs like a tractor... I can be driving along, no change in throttle & it will start its nonsense, then maybe go back to running smooth... or more than likely the other way round. running kak, then run smooth for a while then back to kak - all the while I will be keeping a constant pressure on the throttle... speed changes when the running of the engine changes.
