This car has got me inspired! I really like the fact that simple, affordable mods have helped a near-stock car to outperform so many 'sports' cars

What sort of comments to you get/overhear in the pits?

Oops, I now remember. Great to now finally see the build. Keep the pic coming. It looks fantastic.

I think you have the GX swaybar in. That is why it is so thick.

Now for suspension:

because it has to stay similar to stock I thought I would start off mild and see how I like it, having a car that is to taught doesnt work well on our track so I thought I would go along with the OE theme,

Rear leaf springs had one more spring added and the whole lot were re-tempered and new bushings

Front got the royal treatment:
New inner tie rods
New outer tie rods
New drag link
New Pitman arm
New ball joints
New tension rod bushings
New control arm bushings
New swaybar bushings
New shock's
Retempered stock springs
Modified Ute strut tubes for -.5deg camber
New ATE brake disks/rotors (same size as the origional 1200's
New ATE pads
Rebuilt Ute calipers (much better than the 1200's)
ATE super blue brake fluid
Rebuild master cyl (I like non assisted brakes
Steering box drained, flushed, new oil, set

Good thing is my car has a 19.5mm front swaybar, no idea why its so thick but it doesnt apear to ever have been changed (obviously it was)

Car handles amazingly well for basicaly stock, I was able to hold all the faster cars off around the corners including the 911. I might put a tiny bit more camber in the front but im not out to change much as its handeling is very neutral now and "easy" to use.

here are some pics, suspension work made the biggest mess my workshop has ever seen.

1200GX man, dont you remember emailing me a few months ago? :-p they 185/?/13, cant quite remember the ratio, rims are pretty wide, I really battled to get them in there nice, clear the front calipers by 3mm

Little laugh, one of my customers said I should fit my silvia's turbo to the A-series, might spool it at 18 000rpm

don't think they would,
the two pipes side by side will go a bit close to the Idler arm and bell housing..

Hi Rezlo.
I am also from South Africa and if you look at my car picture you will see my car is exactly the same colour as yours.
Can you post up a pic of your wheels?
They seem to look as if they have a very wide tread.

Great build by the way. I completely love what you did with the car and especially the engine.

Hey Mike,

Do you think Rez's extractors look like they'd clear a B10 engine bay?
