Did you have a 3 pulley CA18 crank pulley and you machined the front one? or did you have a 2 row one? I suspect that if you had a two row one and machined the front one off, that you'd end up in the poo. But not the 3 pulley ones. I wrecked my pulley back in '94 trying to cut 2 pulleys off, that's where I learned to only cut one off.

Getting a CA18DE/CA16DE one from a FWD Nissan EXA is the best way, because that's got two pulleys to begin with.

On the weekend, I'll take a look around at home and see if I have one. It will already be 2 pulleys one from an EXA, but might have a small chip out of one of the pulleys from a previous owner/wrecker who jacked the car up on the pulley.

Also, don't be fooled into buying a CA20 one ..different crank hole diameter.

It sucks that the best way to learn anything is the hard way....I wish those learning experiences weren't so expensive.

My most recent one was only last weekend, me and the boy were removing his radiator from his Torana - he was undoing the auto trans cooling hoses (which are bundy tube like a brake line) kept twisting the nut on the radiator - which twisted the cooling pipe up like a pretzel snapping it off.

Looks like that #OOPS# up only cost $65, plus however long it will take to install.

If it helps CA18DET and CA18DE seem to be the same - should be able to get one for a wreckers for about the $50 I imagine.

yes you guess it, i used "smash" instead of the "F" word
i asked on here if anyone has a single pulley for these ca18's, you guess it no reply, BUT then a member told me to just machine off the first pulley...as they say they did, saying thats all you need to take off,
kool so way i went machined it off and it f#@ked now thanks champ, so now i need a new one.......anyone,

the harmonic is fixed to the front pulley .......SO DONT TRY THIS AT HOME YOU GUYS, leave it alone....

you'd think they would of made a single one for the ca

Did it smash because you cut down the pulley?
