No SA is the only place like that where u can re-register after years off the road. Keep it licenced to save grief, those are fairly minor things needing attention really other than the smokey engine.
wheras taking it for a full inspection they might start looking at every 40 yr old rubber with cracks etc etc etc...

Not sure about the rules in WA, but in SA it's easy. Get the sticker off and let your rego run out. Make sure you don't lose the registration renewal. Once you have done up the car (can be years) take the rego renewal down to the rego office and pay an extra $15 on top of your rego to have the date adjusted and you're back on the road.

I know we do have pretty lax laws in SA vs. the other states though, so not sure what the situation is in WA.

If you take it off the road you will have to hand the plates back as it has a Yellow sticker and the licence/rego stops when the sticker expires.

Re registering the vehicle later should be no different than fixing the problems now.

However if you plan to do some modifications it may be worth keeping the rego going while you are doing this car up.

ok im not sure weather to take my car of the road or to fix it up and get rid of yellow sticker.. ive got till next week ha..

first up ive got 9 things to fix my car to pass it over the pits. new number plates, windscreen wiper new motors, brakes, stearing box tighten most of all smokey engine. and light globes and #OOPS#.

when you do a car from home do you keep the car registered or hand the plates back in.. i am going to take my car of the road so is it worth fixing it up and keeping the rego or buy another car with krudds 900 bucks and taking my time doing it up. i don't have much money cause i am a apprentice.. how ever long it takes me to do up my car i don't car 2..5 years..? wats the cheapest way.
thanks chris.
