ah ha ha ha ha
I know exactly what you mean. When I went in to get my exhaustaAll I had on was a set of extractors, no pipe just the extractors dumpin to atmosphere.

I drove it out there and Goddamm!!!! people thought a fu**in jumbo jet had just landed next to them
It bloody was hilarious. That amount of noise comin from a 120Y just aint normal!!!!

u could always have just a resinator in place of the muffler if u just want it louder, that is not too loud on a small engine car. U might start to want more power so keeping the system u have as it is to handle more power later is probably wiser, being too loud might turn the wrong heads and get u defected.

well i know first hand that this thing was louder than any other car in town for that one night i took the muffler off.. it may not have much gassflow but without a muffler it roars...

there is just not that much gas flow from a 70 odd hp 1200cc motor,
even 2" system on a stock a12 is overkill and 2.5" is just adding a lot of weight that the car will struggle more to pull, u will have no backpressure and lose what little bottom end torque u have.

I have a small sports muffler with NO resinator in a 1.75" system with a stage 1 cam with rejetted stock carb on a14 and that is still quiet, because so little gasflow.

and u only get a dump pipe when u get a turbo, if u really just want more noise drill a hole in it.

XCracer, they most likely put a really restictive muffler on with your new exhaust. you need to get a straight thru or semi straight thru muffler if you want it to be loud

Not necessarily u need to tune it with the exhaust on, maybe no need for bigger jets, its just not that simple a relationship

basically... get a dyno tune and u will know where the power can be had.

I've been told my Induction and exhaust are both "too big" for my engine, but I just see that as removing any potential bottle necks that could restrict it...

IMHO A good sounding zorst is some sort of headers with a 2inch straight thru w muffler in front of diff
