You could post on a doc site And then add a link to it in the Tech wiki: 63-Series Transmission

excellent, thanks longbrow. I still have to give the tranny some love, the rear seal is wasted.
seems like good stuff for the 5spd trans 63A Wikitech page
We'll need someone to tell us the right file size. I'm sure you know a program like photoshop can get the image down to 180 pixels/inch for suitable screen res and then saving as a jpeg can get it down small enough to post but this sight might prefer another type of file?
I'd love to get the hi res PDF if possible, I'll PM you with my email addy.

That crunchy sound is probably misaligned syncros jammed back to partial position. Anyways I have the factory manual chapter for the 63A in a high quality .pdf doc. It is roughly 7MB (after file size reduction). If any one knows where I can post it so it is available to everyone, let me know.

Glad it worked for you buddy, for me it was a last ditch attempt to keep going! Don't know why it works.
EDIT: For all you people at home, Refrain from using a hammer, I whacked the gear lever with the palm of my right hand.

Quote: levey wrote: I had the same problem in my old 1200 rally car, it happened pretty suddenly. I lost 1st & 3rd gears not sure about reverse, anyway I lined up the gear lever with first gear and gave it a good whack, it went in and I kept driving. I can't recomend doing this but it worked for me & lasted another 6 months.
Levey, Thanks for your suggestion! I WHACKED it with my 4lb urethane clown mallet while in the reverse position and got Rev, 2nd, & 4th to come back... they are a little crunchy but perhaps I'll get another 6 months out of it... Maybe we should start a Ghetto Technology thread for this type of sophisticated fix

Besides arrangement of gears, the Striker arm is the main difference in the 60 and 63 series. Essentially the same concept as the 4sp though. I’ll get the 63a chapter scanned and sent to you and get it posted here somewhere-Maybe with TnShow’s 60a 5sp. When I scan I will highlight to steps and add an adjustment in the reassembly of the rear housing that will save you a lot of trouble, believe me I learned the hard way.

I have a 76 B210 manual, so i'm looking at a 4spd tranny... i'd have to get 77 or 78 manual for the 63A 5spd but they seem structurally similar... maybe someone out there has an image and instructions for the 63A 5spd rear extension they might post? could also check the library.
