I've been stickered for tyres, took it over the pits and it passed with the same tyres! Depends on who pulls you over & thier current mood.

In oz we have TWI(tyre wear indicator) on all tyres, the silly thing is if a police officer deems it to be unroadworthy there isn't a whole you can do about it, it's cheaper to pay the fine than take them to court! and alot less heap less hassle!

What a bummer dude!

Even by South African standards that looks roadworthy.

What??? By South African standards that looks like a brand spanking new tyre if compared to the ones on the taxi's.

Yes we do have wear bars in AUSSIE

Find the wear bars on them and if its on them then there not roadworthy if its above them then there OK.

It looks legal to me. I don't see any wear bars worn across. Do Aussie tyres have the wear bars?

Are you kidding, that has at least another 20,000 miles of life left in it. Unless you like spinning the tyres then may only 8000 miles.
