Hehe thats funny cylons,I gotta quit. Not just for family but it slows you down so much when you have a physical job.
I quit for 3 weeks once and had soo much extra energy, just didn't get tired.

Funnily enough I kicked the smoke almost four weeks ago.

Had a look at the prices of all the help-you-quit gimmicks and decided to stop on my own. Going fine. But I do like tobacco. Time will tell I suppose.

The best part about quitting(apart from being able to take a deep, painless breath) is the amount of cash I have saved not only from not-smoking but drinking. I used to go a beer for a smoke so it was expensive recreating. And because I have stopped drinking so regularly it now takes me about a quarter as much to get pissed. Woohoo! 4 pints and I'm walkin out the pub looking like Peter Garrett in full swing.

I smoked pretty heavily for around 17 years - mostly rollies too.

I also read the Allan Carr book a few years ago now and found it pretty easy to cold turkey afterwards, no drugs, no useless nicotine patches that only make you want to keep smoking, no substituting smoking with lollies or whatever.

Have no had a single drag of a single ciggy since, and now 3 or 4 years later don't even miss it, and don't even like the smell of smoke anymore.

Yeh been think about what is really important. Haven't heard back on tests yet, maybe today.

The book sounds like a plan. I can read it while waiting for test results! I'll have plenty of time. We is on hillbilly time out here. You set clocks back 20years then you go sit on the verandah with your favourite bluey at foot.

Alan Carrs "Stop Smoking The Easy Way" book is the way to go. I quit after 20 years straight of moderate to heavy smoking from reading that book, and still feel its the best thing ive ever done, dont miss it one bit. Also have seen it work on other "confirmed" smokers since.
you're sposed to keep smoking while reading it so what have you got to lose?

I cannot urge enough anyone who smokes to read it.
