There is no A14GX motor. Possibly he was thinking of an A14 engine from B210 GX car model. Those can come with A14S engine or A14T engine.

I know a bloke who says that the A14GX motor was actually a low compression unit, and has greater piston dish than other A145's.

Always be suspicious of "A14 GX". There was no such thing. In japan there was A14T twin carb engine which had the regular size-port A14 head. And there was B210 GX which came with regular A14S (single carb) engine.

Datsun Competition sold a "GX Cylinder Head (from 7/73)", which was an A12T part. This is very similar to the A12 GX part, with the extra-large oval ports, and small valves, but for the new type engine (1974-up engine). It was never factory fitted to A14s.

They also sold a "Competition Cylinder Head (from 7/73)" which was a polished and ported version of above, fitted with the larger A14 valves.

We have the same problem in Austrailia, any oval port head that is trying to be sold by the less knowledgable, is classified as a 'GX' head. It happens alot! but not always.

I was just on ebay and a place in NY had two cylinder heads advertised as GX/race heads............they don't look like GX heads to me. One has roller rockers so it would be worth having. Don't like to rain on anyone's parade but I'd hate to see a member buy an A14 head thinking it was GX. Somebody else take a look.
