alright, well with these new laws in place the coupe is going to be a track car.
im going to make up a half cage and its getting an injected a15T. then when i get some skill on the track i will be going SR, i have one sitting on a pallet waiting in the shed :).
progress is slow as i have a couple projects on the go at the moment. but eventually it will be finished.
cheers
Dan

Hi Dan

no... we never did any body work to the 1200 in 10 years, so the bog must be older than 10 years old!

The only obvious bog that I had noticed was in the back drivers side corner, under the tail light- I don't know what's lurking under there, hopefully nothing too bad.

I hope there's not too much more lurking under the paint for you!

Cheers
Luke

Hi Dan

great to see the coupe getting the attention it deserves. I always intended doing it, but never managed to find the time!

My avatar is the replacement for the coupe that I bought. An '88 320i (these have fully galvanised body panels... no rust issues here!) If only the 1200s were galvanised. The only rust in the whole car is the size of a 5 cent piece in the rear valance.

Looking forward to seeing how she progresses. Good luck!

Cheers
Luke

I agree with 1200rallycar about the injection, I have been there and done it years ago. I spent alot of time with different carbys. I could get them working well, with ok drivability, good power and avarage fuel consumption. Changed over to a basic aftermarket ecu, and never looked back, a little more power, heaps better drivability and fuel consumption.
If you include dyno time the injection, they will cost about the same and is a lot easier to modify a ECU if you change anything on your engine.

Coupe looks great.

Scott
