By the way, I installed my brand new front rubber bumpers, and now the hood is too high in front. About 1/4 inch, it is very noticeable.

were those the ones from e-bay, the guy who sells the door drains as well? I think he's out of CA. or TX....... I still need to buy those.

hey, where can I get new flywheel bolts? whats the spec so I can order from a bolt company or maybe Dorman or someone..

Back to the original question then, what would make the hood sit so much lower then the cowling level? Theres no damage to the hood, the mount bosses are not pushed in or anything. It just seemed odd. I'll take a pic & post it.

Not trying to be smart, but these rubber bumpers the guy in portugal has put on his hood won't 'bump' on anything if my eyes serve me right.

but at least you can shave them down a bit with a razor blade at the front to get them sitting flusher at the front

I have never seen any shims installed on any hood (bonnet).

There are no rear rubber bumpers on USA models, not that I've seen nor in the catalog. But Mr. Datsunbat in Portugal bought new ones from Nissan ("Nissan dealers around the world").

Are there supposed to be shims between the hinge arms & the hood?

I put my hood back on a few days ago (its been off for a long time for paint prep) & noticed it was misalignment w/the cowl, sits about a 1/2" below it. The lip seal for the firewall isn't on nor are any of the rubber bumpers for the front of the hood & if I remember right there are some rubber stops towards the back as well, is that right?

thanks ,evan
