my out-laws have a 2000 magna sport, now... duz yours have a trip-tronic gear box? if so. go into "manual mode" drop the tyre psi a lil, stall it up a little whilst waiting for the lights, when lights go green foot of brake, take it to 5000 rpm, bump second, and stomp it, should work dude, have blown many a commodores of in the magna, using this technique. they fcukn fly for what they are, standard they pull all the way to 4th hard.

nick-m I do have a big whiteline adjustable rear swaybar, and everything else is nice and tight. dazza i cant fork out for a set of 15's just for a 1-off, I think Jmacs suggestion is good, will lift off just for the 1st to 2nd shift, next month with new tyres.

Maybe you could just lift off the throttle momentarily for each upshift so the clutch packs can grab and fully engage the next gear, then floor it a split second later, it should be enough to prevent slippage unless they are really stuffed.
