Are they running wet sumps and still turning 9.5K RPMs? Peter Z is selling a winged sump on eBay this weekend.

I know that some of the A-series engines in SCCA sports Racers would turn 11,500 (possible 12K but not sure) so the number may be a bit inflated but not totally off...............in fact if it used an E- Series head or some one off it may be quite accurate. The current GT-Lite SCCA cars with A-series engines are turning 9500 to 9800 RPM's

With enough money anything is possible.

Is it likely that it went to 13 500 and still made power? I doubt it, port sizes alone would need to be MASSSSSIVE to support that type of flow, with that type of build the last think you would worry about is using some old V8 single spring per valve setup.

Of course it'd rev to 13,500rpm.

Check out Marlin Tomlinsons 1000cc A10, that pulls 12000 pretty easy.
