Another suggestion would be with whatever way you decide to go is to get a compenent set of speakers with the separate tweeters as opposed to a coaxial set, as they give way better directional sound and they differentiate better between the high and the low sounds.

so even 6 inch speakers would put out good bass? the parcel shelf is getting remade so i can make anything suit. what would go better? 6" or 6x9". The amp puts out 75W stable i believe. and it looks like these speakers should handle it as they are 75Rms with 150W peak. lol... i dunno... someone help me out here... i dont understand how the calculations for it all work. I just dont wanna burn out more speakers ... LOL

agreed there lachie,
my mate ran a alpenis head unit, clarion amp and a pair of 6 inch focal splits. he didnt bother putting the sub in as the bass was so awesome just off the 6inchers.
the sound quality was so clear you can hear a squeaky bass pedal in a particular song every time the drummer stepped on it.

Agree with everyone else. i had a set of Focal's and I don't know why everyone messes around trying to fit subs etc. cause with these speakers there was just no need. Highly recommend!

im realy happy with my alpine 6x9 R's
these were in my brothers poohdoor while he was running a $3,000 system and they reely are great speakers

he now has a subie with like 3 sets of 6.5" R's and they sound great also
hes thinking about about changing them for focal, but i dont think there is much better then alpine type R and focal imo
