Hey matey i will be in LA in a couple of weeks, the 9th and the 10th of feb and will probably take you up on that diff depending on price.
Perhaps you could also help a fellow dat club member source some 5 speeds with local wrecker knowledge?

yay! it's working again, no noise at all...
now i need to get the other things i was fixing back on track now that all the other unexpected things ahve been fixed

thank you all for helping!
BTW ... I'll have a 3.9 h150 rebuilt in the los angeles area if anyone ever needs one in an emergency. yeah that happens often ;)

What! I can't believe that diff is bad!! Are you sure it's the diff and not the rear wheel bearings? What gear oil are you using?
Bring it back so we can inspect the diff!

3.889 will be much better peformance than the 3.700. The latter has a little better fuel economy.

Likewise these are currently listed as orderable by Nissan USA.
