the adjustable timing gear is used so that i can get the exact cam timing i require for the modified camshaft i will be running, with keyway adjustable timing sets it usually done in incraments of 2 degrees. with a vernier cam gear (marked in mm and you adjust the camshaft gear itself) i can get the timing close and then adjust it to perfect using the vernier style gearset.

They allow you to advance or retard the camshaft and try it to see what difference it makes.

so what is the adjustable timing gears supposed to do?

hi guys im just wondering where u guys may have gotten your adjustable timing gears from, i know tomei do them but that would be a last resort, and after 3 days of screwing round with a dial guage and pullers to change the position of my 186 holden crank gear im going to go with a vernier timing gear for every god damn engine i build in the future lol.
and also does anyone know offhand if yella terra still make a series roller rockers or do i have to try to get second hand ones(i REALLY dont want to have to do that) they will be going on my race A15.
