nismo1 if anyone does make that type of hp from an a15 n/a the specs will be a closely gaurded secret so the answer to the question will be Show me the Money

You won't make any more peak HP with an A15. The limit is breathing, and the A15 is limited by the same cylinder head.

With a turbo or supercharger you can make some high HP for less money than a high-revving naturally aspirated engine.

yeah a14force i get what u sayin i have a uno turbo as well although most of the time i have had datsun/nissan just no real big mods.by questioning i can see whats done and what can be done.the main thing is to scratch and see whose doing what with the a12/14/15 as with the rotary. i think the top rotary chaps are usa;aussies;s.africa but i find in rsa not so much has been done with the a-series.usa and aussies are way ahead i think maybe because u r not scared to try s/thing diff.ok enuogh now

You gotta remember that modern engines have vastly superior breathing than our old motors do. The more air you can get into, and out of a motor, the more power it will make. The new abath fiat 500 makes 160 with a turbo 1400. (remember, thats a production car, and not too highly strung) that wouldn't be too difficult to acheive with a modern cylinder head design.

Suzuki cappacino's are turbo charged though. Also 160 out of an a12 speedway motor is not anything streetable They also run methanol which I believe is illegal to run on the street (because it burns clear),

240hp (not at the wheels) might be possible from an a15 with a turbo but then again most people don't want to spend the money required to get that sort of horse power out of an a15, they'll normally just do a motor swap

hi again chaps i was just asking as one of the other threads [fuel injection a12]a speed-way chappie said some fellow drivers claim to make 160 from a a12. i then thought well what would you get out of an a15.i read an article in the banzai mag-kei cars suzuki cap which is 600 or900 some odd cc and they make 200 some odd.yes i know it is more adv but i was just wondering how they got all that power from such a small motor.i like to ask questions and see if some one has a logical brighter idea-yes note logical.so its a case of thats a load of cr*& or yeah thats food for thought

240 HP from a 1.5 litre carbureted pushrod engine? Yeah, no problems.
Just a bit of a spend & a 44 gallon drum of Nitromethane & you're home & hosed.

You might need a spare engine or two, fully built up & ready to go if you want to keep campaigning.

OK, silliness aside, the A series Datsun is a wonderfull passenger car engine that can be modified into a brilliant competition engine, ... but there is a point of diminishing returns where costs rise exponentially & service life drops alarmingly.

I suspect that 240 HP from an A15 is probably well into that zone.
