If it's a c200, you could just find a clutch LSD for it, and shim the crap out of it. (link in my earier post) One day, I'll pull the center out of my C200, and compare the nugget to an R200 one I have laying around. I'f they are the same, that would open up untold options from japan as the drift boys are spoilt for choice in that dept.

hey dudes got a quick ques i currently am trying to modify my nissan d22 2wd Fr to drift. As such im trying to look for a lsd for it. Im using a CA41 axle which probably means that my rear is a c200. anybody has any idea what sort of lsd i could go for? ive been reading up on nissan mechanical lsd and also the arb air locker. but im not sure which one is better for drifting, or is there any other lsd which would be more suited. Pls advise. thanks guys!

I scored this today. Side by side it's very very like a shortnose R200. I plucked the backing plate, and bingo! It's a clutch LSD.
But man, this diff is one heavy SOB! There's no way I can use it in my 1200 for this reason.
But it was still a good score at that price.

EDIT, I did a bit of googling, and came across this site, http://www.kamikazeracing.org/dl/ZTech/R200_LSD_Clutch_Rebuild.pdf and the carrier has larger windows in the cenetr bit, so you can see more of the gizzards. So now I'm not quite so sure that the center is interchangebale with the R200.........

well looking at that I don't think the gears would fit the R200 as the pinion looks a bit short.

You'd swear it was a dirty old BW diff, but it's made in japan. Open in new window

it would likely be great, but they sound expensive. For drag racing, a dirty old welded up center will suffice. But they suck balls on the street. I think I shall buy it. The diameter of the crownwheel is the same as as my charger has, so I'm almost tempted to see if it might work in that.

The R200 used in Datsun trucks with IRS front, is made by Fuji Heavy Industries. R160 is used in Datsun 510 and many Subarus.

It is said that the C200 gears and R200 gears (R&P/CWP) are the same, and there was some guessing that maybe the LSD would swap. Is this now known to be a fact?

ARB air-locker would be great for drag racing?
