Sounds like good advice. I will leave it all connected. Some of the pre=shaped hoses have cracked, but I am sure I can figure that out. I will leave it fully stock.

The question is: do you want a backfire. I would leave it connected as it doesn't hurt performance.

The emission system makes a difference. Mine is a 1972 and still in working condition. Why do you thinks your doesn't make a difference? Are some of the parts broken?

The one that robs the most performance is the EGR and the spark timing cutouts. Look through your 1977 factory service manual (I got mine for $5 off ebay) and it will explain how each system works.

Ignore my stupity but... to remove the A.B.V. I also have to remove the A.I.S.? If this is all done will it effect anything, other than a 33 year old emission system that I doubt makes a difference anyway?

Fast idle (cold) spec is something like 2000 RPM. I always set mine a bit lower because that's loud. But no worries either way.

The anti-backfire valve is part of the A.I.S. Other A14s without AIS or Air Pump doesn't have an AVB.

The car run's rather well, the only problem I have is a high "cold" idle. The only emission item I am questioning is the ABV right now, the PCV, EGR and AIS system are functioning properly.

In the past I have had several carbed cars with out an AVB valve and never worried about an engine fire. Also, the Weber replacement does not use an ABV.
This made me wonder if I needed mine at all, and what it actually did for it. I noticed a lot of possibilities of vacuum leaks with the ABV. If I decide to keep it I will buy a new one and install new hoses.

I am triing to retain as close to stock vehicle as possible. I may just disconnect it for now untill I replace it with a new one.

I will let you know how it performs with out it.

If you are green for the enviorment than the PCV valve can stay. Otherwise plug it and just go with a drag pipe like the olden days.
Oh, you will need to fab a plate on the intake to cover the hole where the EGR valve connected to.

Don't remove all the emission stuff.
* The PCV system is good for your engine, and except for racing regulations there is no good reason to remove it
* vacuum advance is good for performance (at least you have worse performance without it. You can certainly recurve it for even better results but 'worse' emissions)

The A.I.S. system looks like it won't cause any peformance penalty (unlike the air pump system). But you can remove it and the car will perform just as well as with it. The downside of removing it is higher emissions.

Get rid of all your emission crap. You don't need it. I had a 77 B210 and I removed everything. All of it gone. Switch to a Weber carb. The car ran much better than it ever did. The only vaccum hose you will need is the one for your distributor.
Anyone need a B210 Factory tach? Have one for sale. These are tough to find.
