bottom end only no head has been out in the weather so the bore is rusty still has oil in the bottom end so its not all nasty and rusty in there the bore has a lip so it needs to be bore anyway
These are a top little motor if you plan to build up something special & want to keep it in the 1300cc class.
[A14/15's must compete in the 1600cc class so are at a disadvantage there]
The A12A uses a unique [to A series] 75mm bore size, however the 76mm pistons from the A14 are only 2 oversizes up on the standard bore so the block will be guaranteed to handle this size.
The best part is that these engines use the shorter A12 rod but with the larger 19mm wrist pin so the A14 pistons will slip right on without any mods to the rods.
If you go to the A14's first oversize [76.5mm] you will get 1287cc which is close to, but comfortably inside the 1300 limit & this is still a standard oversize for the original A12A block.
The original A12A head was nothing to write home about so use an A14/15 head & a mild cam with a single downdraught Weber on a water heated manifold with extractors/headers/branches [pick one] & you have a damn good little engine with a LOT of development potential.
You snooze, you loose.
