The catalytic convertor is situated in the exhaust line isn`t it? If so mine doesn`t have. I`m thinking of removing all of that stuff but i`m afraid if the original setup need that piece for example that intake with the stove like heater.

The air pump takes horsepower to turn, so it decreases performance.

But if your car has a catalytic convertor, you need it to prevent fouling the expensive convertor.

In my opinion it wont help your performance, the airpump is pumping cool air into the exhaust and it needs to be hot to maintain exhaust gas velocity. The only things I like that have helped power were the pcv valve and efi, though I prefer carbs.

I was wondering if the air pump on my A14 give some kind of increase in the performance. I`m thinking of removing all of that emissions control stuff but i think that pump maybe`s worth maintain.

Thanks
