Axles are not rated for horsepower, but are for torque.
The H165 diff and axles can reliably take about 225 lb. ft. of torque

Ok thanks. My next question is: How much power can the standard axles take? If the datto doesnt sell im likely thinking around the 200rwkw+ vicinity

R31 is not the easiest to fit.
Something with original leafs is easier.

Ford 9" is perhaps the easiest, can be made to order for Datsun 1200.

Im thinking along the lines of a shortened R31 axle, shortened shaft and either a CA or RB gearbox. I guess something thats going to be strong but the easiest to fit. Cost comes third...

Morning guys,

My car is nearly on the road- passed its blueslip no worries, :)- and now im sorta faced with continuing to modify it.

Currently it has the standard rear axles with a H165 diff and an R30 gearbox, what im thinking is a stronger rear axle, a proper LSD and i would like to have a ca18 gearbox unless i can fit a tougher gearbox- maybe an r32 or r33?

Im unsure of the specifics but i imagine that the shifter will be pushed back, regardless of where i go, maybe a shortened tailshaft, r31 rear axles and disc brake conversion?

Anyways, what do you guys think?
