ok a few pics of the coupe. its painted, its at home slowly being played with but with a few other dramas round here i havent had much time as usual. planning on doing whole car back together first, engine/gbox second and suspension/brake mods third. lets see how i go lol. oh and for the few interested, theres a pic of my van at powercruise (ls1 auto express van) and unfortunately one of it after i lost it at 80kph sideways and looped into a gutter in the wet snapping a axle/wheel clean off and hitting a street sign (joys of lock diffs). remeber kids, driftings done best by skilled drivers on race tracks lol. copped a $400 neg driving fine Also got some rims. was gunna run just watanabes i have but found a set of 13 inch techno racing rims which ill paint and polish the lip. these are my favourite!!! also a photo of the grille etc bck in.

datoboy,
Can't wait to see progress and assembly mate.i love any a-series build and even more, an NA a12 build as few take this route. well done to dare go with the A12 :) instead of the usually a14/a15 route.also you keep the engine with matching engine numbers in the bay. with those pistons im assuming its now a 1300cc ;) Which head gasket and cam are u planning on using with ur setup? also any mods to crankshaft and rods?

Congrats on becoming a father.
I reckon you're at the best possible stage of a build. Really this for is the quickest most motivating part to complete. Sometimes I reckon you've gotta tell yourself to slow down and take your time so you don't stuff things up, especially after a long day ad you think you start to get in a rhythm.
Anyway, would love to see some pics! Coilovers on std shocks or something else?? 200b stanza etc....

Alrighty, long time since I updated this Build, it's been long and a few large events slowed its pace. I'm now a father, I moved from the area I grew up, shut my business down and now workin for a boss again!! But I've kept the coupe, nearly sold it a few times, but didn't cause I couldn't let it go. It's now painted, had a bare metal job done on it, and looks magic!! Had a new sill fitted, which wasn't bad but the didn't wanna do a body on it, same as radiator support as she was a lil bent from a previous acco years earlier in its life. Appart from that, the rest was pretty sweet. I'll upload some happy snaps shortly. Engine is all machined up, just need to assemble it when I have a spare minute. Ended up keeping a series, but A12, to keep her close to originalish as I can and to be Different (dizzy in right spot hahaha) It's bored to 76.5mm has been decked balanced etc, 10:1 comp, nice gx ported titanium valved twin springed head, lightened flywheel, heavy clutch, twin 40 dellortos, extractors, elec dizzy, arp bolts etc etc. Have a 5 speed to go behind it, ute diff, coil overs for front, camber tops, 13x6 watanabes, Venetian etc. All I have to do now is assemble it all!!! Coupe will be back home Monday, so my buil thread will be updated regularly again!!!

woohoo!! got my new coupe shell in my garage finally. this was a old man owned smick car that i bought of a bloke who started to do er up. its a 73 auto coupe. came with all its original bits and pieces, and has been striped to be painted. Its had its engine bay sand blasted, passenger door striped, repaired and high filled, rear 1/4's stripped and primed, boot lid striped, repaired and high filled, roof striped and primed. It only needs the sills done (both front corners have a few rust spots) and a few minor dent repairs on the rad support, and a dent or two on the rear beaver. Hopefully be painted before i know it!!! The plan then is all back together stock as a rock, including auto trans for now just so i can cruise it!! Will finish the coilovers, angry motor and man conversion at a later date. Best $1000 spent in a while!!!
