They are rather snappy and very oversteery... not that i was complaining but the same goes with any car, depends on how much you spend on the car to get it to handle. In stock form.. they suck. Having a car snap sideways at 80kms/hr suddenly is not very pleasant. If they were set a little more to understeer initially and configure the rear springs and shocks to suit the transfer and make it less snappy... then i would agree. I havent driven the ZO6... but both Motor bagged the #OOPS# out of it. Went up against a heavier luxury aston martin, the gtr and the ford GT. Corvette lost in every respect. Power wasnt eventractable.

Thanks, what would be a good leaf spring setup, don't mind if ride quality is affected.

Can't go wrong with leafs.
The Corvette's use IRS and inverted leaf's and look how they handle :)

A leaf spring car can achieve as good roadholding as an IRS. On the other hand the handling can be better with IRS, i.e. not ruffled by bumps in the corners (if done right).

The road racers here recommend leafs.

the reasoning behind my quest for info on the IRS conversion is because my 1st car(ee90 rolla) had it and was loads of fun around corners and since the 120y would b my 1st car on leafs i am unsure of its handling capabilities as compared to that.

No, few (if any) people have ever done that. It won't make the car handle any better but if done right it might give a smoother ride.
