get a few cans of carb cleaner spray, and really go to work cleaning it. It might not help it work much better, but at least it's easy to put together and do any adjustments on (and also if it starts to leak or anything, you can see it easily on a clean surface)

Even the smartest carb guy in the world started exactly the same way. At one time in their life they had never worked on a carb and they tried it the first time. So you have got the same starting place as they had too, you can do this! And if anything goes wrong, people here can help.

Im not too discouraged...this is the first time I am doing it by myself. I have been doing up another for the past 12 years...only this time save on paying some other mechanic. The car only cost me $300 and worked fine.....but I thought that rebuilding it with my own hands would be pretty cool. if worse comes to worse go blow $800 bucks on some webber thingo maji!..i got another toy for the track if this fails....but it wont...with great help from people on this forum I hope.

ok, don't be discourages, effort and likeness can do lot of things properly.when i joined this forum i was nil, but now i am very confident on what i am doing by myself.

rebuild the same day---i had to wait 4 days for gasket kit.

may as well sink down a slab and pray i guess..

a clean bench, an pull it apart on a clean rag so the bits don't roll off the bench, and put it back together the same day.

Im about to try and attempt for the first time in my life to rebuild (with my trustee ol skool workshop manual) the A12 carby that I pulled apart and thouroughly....

since its a first time attempt at any carby...any tips??
