I find your failure to grasp what the OP is asking quite perplexing as it has been pointed out to you more than once. Maybe you are taking the mickey, maybe you just struggle with the English language. Either way you're quite convincing.

He is not after "real raw power", he is after 160-180rwkw. His current set up will achieve his goals therefore suggesting he scrap what he has in favour of a different engine is counter productive and nonsensical.

Anyway enjoy the school holidays mate.

To the OP - If you would like to discuss this further feel free to PM me. There are quite a few people on this site who can give you quality advice based on actual experience.

A 20b is 5kaud second hand if you can find one and blow a seal and your rat.shit
for a 2.5k aud housing. A lexus v8 is ten times the engine a 13b is, weighs less,
dirt cheap and then dont get me started on 2jz an engine where top rotaries racers
are moving to for price and performance.
You cant beat pistons period, the rotary is like a fuse, short lived, bright
for a short time and very expensive now.
Also most datsuns with mazda engines are not worth silch compared to nissan upgrades.
Pistons are here to stay until a real rotary solution arrives = AC electric motors.

Most datsun lovers like going around corners rather than a few second in a straight line.

if it spins the same direction when the cars not in gear. will spin the opposite way if its open and not in gear(unless the sprider gears are stupidly stiff)

i own a ca18det 1200 ute weighing 920kg with 130kw atw.
turbo - garrett gt25bb
ECU - e8 haltech
exhaust - 3" all the way through
tyres - low profile 15"
diff - shortend r31 (not sure if its LSD)
just about everything else is stock.
so please list all other mods that can be made with APROX COST AND POWER INCREASE as well, thanks.

An easy way to tell if you have an LSD is to jack up the rear end and turn one wheel. If the other one turns the same way too it's a pretty safe bet your car has an LSD.

giving money away? well if you can add up all your expenses and still then not be garunteed that your 1.8L is not gonna blow every time you give it then it will yeah any dope can achive anything but its maintaining the engine to keepit at peak....and thats where you will spend your hard earned cash.. save the cash and buy a decent engine that are still to day comon with 150-180kw. and if your gonna achive times the small 1.8 CA wont get thw results and feeling you want, stick to the A15 series and work that and save your cash son

I guess we all have different experiences with motors, brands etc. My current CA has been in my car for 5 years making 160+ rwkw and is used regularly for circuit racing.

There are only 2 issues I have seen with CAs.
1. Muppets fit them to their cars and wind 15psi into them without replacing the head gasket, coolant lines etc and wonder why they blow head gaskets and cook them. Not smart.
2. In circuit racing applications the sump needs to be enlarged and an oil cooler fitted to prolong bearing life.
Neither of the above issues is exclusive to the CA.

The fact of the matter is the OP already has the motor running in the car. He already has performed modifications that will see him easily reach both his power and quarter mile goals. What you are suggesting is not cost effective. Even if he does pop his current motor at some stage it will still be cheaper for him to fit a rebuilt CA than re-engineer the car for an SR or rotary.

As if a CA18det is not worth the effort please give us a break.
13b Turbo engines are not cheap or engineered in Vic and parts have now doubled from Mazda. A complete seal kit is around 1300 bucks aftermarket not mazda and then there are rotor housings, rotors and many other things that can/will need replacement.
I can get an FJ20det for 800 without ecu. However Id prefer a lightweight ca18 that makes 200atw and has heaps of aftermarket parts are throwaway prices and also gearboxes galore for 90aud.

ca18 you know you wished you had one.

smooth power, lightweight and economy.
