Yeah sorry, the needle.
Checked for kinks and there wasnt any. Dattodude, are you talking about the plastic liner on the cable? Thanks guys.

- Kink in cable
- plastic liner melted due to inadequate engine to body ground electrical conductivity.
- speedo drive in gearbox need regreasing.

What flickers the light or the needle ? My needle use to flicker found out it was a kink in the speedo cable.
