For sure!
Do you guys have any TV shows over there where journo's go into bat for people who have been shafted? It's amazing how fast people back pedal when they're staring down the barrel of some bad press.
We got one here called "fair go". Sometimes they get results just by showing up on the doorstep.

I heard about this, Brock someone? 1000 bucks and 12 months ban?

Who is the Datsun Expert that lives in WA that all the speedway kids talk about?

I THINK the only A-Series head that was issued with studs was the AY12 & AZ12 cross-flow heads.

Poor chap, I suppose if everyone knows that he was banned & fined for such a pissy little modification his reputation won't be harmed so much. But what a slap in the face, a whole season of racing to be thrown away at the very last race.

This is rediculous!
How far do these "tech" people go

Maybe they should check everyones rocker cover "fasteners"

If anyone is using 6 small hex bolts instead of factory supplied Phillips head, maybe they are "cheating" as well and should be fined and banned.

This is not just!
This is just not right!

the appeal was lost . the owner and driver(junior)have been fined & band, title striped off them.i feel for the young driver with plenty of talent to be stripped of a aus title, due to the tec people how decided a stud was the think which gave he a advantage over other cars. "WHAT A LOAD OF CRAP". all i can say is good luck for the future and hope u kick ass elsewhere and dont have to put up with DICKHEADS somewhere else.cheers

LOL, I loved your analogy. I loved it because it brings into crystal clear focus the stupidity of this action.

I wonder what the fine is for an act of violence in the street. I bet it isn't $1000, yet these scumbags want to impose this fine for using a fastener with a nut on top instead of a hex head.

What ever happened to the good old Aussie ethos of giving a bloke a 'fair go'

Thats a really really good mod to do to an a series, but it's about as performance enhancing as a chrome plated dipstick handle.
what a crock of sh1t!

I'd be real interested to have someone explain to me how the use of studs to secure the rocker shaft provide an improvement in either performance or reliability.
Standard bolts in threads that are in good condition are not known as a common failure point in our Datsuns, the threads are usually damaged when the bolts are removed or re-installed. The additional strength of studs over bolts is like comparing the killing of ants with a 2 pound hammer or a 4 pound one.
The end result is exactly the same.

Good fortune with any counter protest that you may mount.

Good for you. Since it was totally wrong, your appeal will be granted.
