The JB semi roller rocker is a undoubtedly a good product, but hardly a major step forward in rocker arm design.

The YT 'full roller' rockers do not have that drag inducing bush which is an effective 'cheap' means to an end.
The roller bearings in the YT rockers all but eliminate friction from this source.

If you're going to go roller rockers, then go all the way otherwise it's like trying to have s-x with your d--k only half way in. [semi s-x?]

For the record, I too have YT roller rockers & they didn't cost me anywhere near $1,000. I bought them after weighing up the differences against the semi rollers & decided that if I'm in for a penny, then I'm in for a pound..

i use theese rocker arms on my 1400 170hp a-series have had no problems with theese rocker arms lighter weight allows higher rpm without valve float with lighter weight springs and seat pressure. my engine is built to run 9200rpm but i limit it to 8700 for longher life of motor. they use standard a-series adjusters

and if the push rods are ajustable then they would be much heavyer than the hollow cromoly ones used with YT, and YT will still make them up for you but they are 800ish... each have there pros and cons.. but realy there 99% wank in most road cars, so yes I am a wanka! haha

but but, the YT are full roller, not bushed on the shaft, this would be the major advantage hands down, for that kinda money just for the roller tip.....

Yeah rocker towers aren't going to be cheap. I was making them up for use with heads that I didn't want damaged, i.e NOS. But when I got the quotation for manufacture I fell off my chair and suffered mild cardiac arrest.

If I simplify the design the price goes down significantly. I was hoping for more interest to tell you the truth, then I would have had alternate designs by now.

Steel/metal prices have just risen too apparently so that doesn't help, manufacturers love using that excuse to push the dagger in further and have you fork out more than you really have to.

Chris Since you are making the rocker tower, you could make them
maybe by using the roller tips from Falcon 6 engines.
Alot of cars have the roller tip on some multivalve engines.
Id rather buy them from a local.

Yella Terra's are only cheap now because the market is pretty sparse and they can't sell them off. That chap on ebay has sold 3 in the last couple of years (two this year).

JB Rollers are selling like hot-cakes because they're an outstanding product which is reflected in the market, which also explains the price, holding strong and well worth the money.

Saying they're just as costly as YT Rollers isn't quite true, as the cheap YT ones are the 'NLA sale' items. YT don't make them no more. Weren't hey worth over a AU$1000 when first manufactured?

Do your self a favour and buy JB. Put the Yella Terra's on the shelf behing your bar so when your mates come round you can tell them about how rare they are........and why they aren't made anymore.

yella terra rockers are heavy, and they dont come in as high a ratio as the JB ones.
