I worked at Local Toyota Workshop and will tell you the ANY 4AGE Varient is a brilliant option. Lower Engine for better balance in the front plus very strong internals. you will easily get 250hp out of it with fairly stock internals just open up the head a bit and cam it. Look forward to hearing your Decision..

Getting 180-220rw kw out of a 4AGZE (T) is not that hard, many have got much more! And in my opinion they appear to be a stronger engine. They are also smaller and sit lower in the engine bay.

The T50 sprinter box fits the tunnel, but the stronger W series of "supra" boxes need a larger tunnel (and special bell housing). Plus you can make different spec's of engine. i.e. 20 valve silver or black top in turbo/super charged or natural aspirated. Even get a 7A bottom end built to go on the 1600 head (any 4AG head will fit with some mod's), when these are turbo'd the results appear to be astonishing.

The reason I chose this engine, is it's different (dont ask I haven't even started mine). How many CA 1200's are there? Freakin heaps, and with good reason to, it's a bloody effective conversion! For simplicity you cant beat a CA. It has all been done before and there should be no surprises in the conversion.

Either will make you car extremely competent on the streets or strip, just do what you prefer.

4agte with t50 fits in no tunnel mods =good
ca needs tunnel mods of the shelf mounting kits =good
4a looks better in the engine bay IMO sits way lower!
if the engine you looking at out of a sprinter manifolds they may probably foul on the tower and bonnet.

you don't have to cut your radiator support, but it will make changing a gearbox alot easier if you squash your motor up very close to the firewall like most do.

Yes you can get a 4age engineered with turbo, as long as the mounts are done properly.

You only have to cut the gearbox tunnel if your gearbox does not fit, lol I know that sounds dumb but it depends on which engine conversion you do, which floorpan you have, which gearbox you choose, where you mount your motor.

as for the maddat mounts for a 4agte, check their site for one, they have most of their products listed I think. www.maddat.com i think.

There is nothing wrong with putting any other manufacturers motor in, choose whats best for the car you want to achieve, its your car, don't listen to others.

180kw would be a fun ride, 180rwkw would be even better. Both engines have alot of potential in a 1200 as they put the power to weight through the roof, I'd imagine you'll be doing or getting close to 12's. But it really depends on alot of things you do with your conversion.
