Bruce the Exedy was a button clutch? I had the same problem until I went
organic version and it made nice progression from down low compared
to the button clutch which left me red faced in traffic.
I kept the HD exedy pressure plate at the time which was soft enough compared
to the custom made one which was too heavy on the leg muscles.

I have an exedy clutch behind an L series motor and I am really unhappy with it. My motor has a mild cam and a couple of SU's.
It is so on and off to the point where it is a pain in the ring to drive in traffic.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Prior to this I had a nissan competition clutch (which I got from datrally at the time) which lasted for years and was a lot more forgiving.
cheers
Bruce

I'd use an Exedy heavy duty organic
Part # NSK-6121HD

If you think it has honestly got more than 125 HP atw and you drive like a tool you could get the cushioned button version
NSK-6121HDCB

But I think the HD would be fine
