yeah it was but i fixed that
it had a snapped valve train and the three middle bolts that hold it down had stripped the thread of the head
now it sounds way smoother not like a tractor

i was using a test light to time the engine and which ever way i turn the distributor with the crank at 5btdc the light doesnt go off

Was that your video on youtube? First start up and a little walk-around? That's definitely running only only a couple of cylinders.

There is an article in the wiki that is pretty helpful.

Installing Distributor

It doesn't matter too much where the dizze is but as long as the rotor is somewhat close to the position of lead number 1, then arrange the rest of the leads around (in the right direction) so the rotor is sending a spark to 3, 4 and then 2.

can someone please post a photo of their crank at 5btdc and a shot of the rotor position without the cap

i think mine is way too far retarded and i don't know why but it's a stock motor
