might be a lil hard to source nowerdays, but a friend has done up an old '74 Valiant Lancer..... *think* they're a "HA". Model before the hatchback type. Similar to the Galant, yet more resemble a MK1 Escort. Factory with a Saturn 1400 motor, but the Sigma L26 (easily bored to 2.8L) bolts straight in. (Legal in Qld with the L20 motor). Coupled with a matching 5-speed, you'll have phenomenal power-weight ratio, before even contemplating forced induction or injection.

Best car made in Australia in my opinion are valiants.
They are big but the slant 6 can do over 1 million ks
if service properly and they are still use in John Deere
Tractors for they have a bullet proof reliability.
With straight LPG they make a great everydayer.

Hillman Imp, Killmanpimp.

Almost bought one a while ago, until I cam to my senses and realised how difficult parts would be to get.

Valiant AP5 sedan, or Valiant VG safari wagon, both = automotive perfection

All cars mentioned could be considered the Datsuns' nemisis', But I suppose they all have to band together these days in order to stick it to the man in an epic old car battle of epic proportions.

That said what about something like the ever so hardcore V dub or something different like a Leyland Marina?
