Checked the Thermostat again actually it is opening 10MM exactly,but not sure whether it is starting exactly on 76.5

yes, you flushed it. But did you bleed the cooling system after re-filling?

Also, did you check that the D21/Patrol thermostat freely fit? I measured a head and it seems like that thermostat will hit the back of the casting?

i got different thermostat now that is i think Nissan Petrol Y60 76.5 C

yes i have re flushed the cooling system too..but did not install new thermostat

at the moment i am bench testing it for few days , then install it on the week end if this doesn't work fine i will give up thermostat.

The D21 thermostat may need to open more -- it's a lot longer.

Did you bleed the coolant system after replacing the thermostat? If not, it is likely to overheat.

Thanks, yes i am boiling it over a period of 4 5 days and see its response,then if i am satisfied with it i will install it to the car,because had a horrible time with previous Thermostat.

some open at different tempratures, i think 73 degrees celcius and 78 is available usually. they should open the same amount though when open

best way to test is to put it in a mug with boiling water from the kettle and watch it open

The different models open different amounts.

Hi Guys

Has any one checked the Measurement of Thermostat opening
distance , is it differ from 82 to 76.5 C or all the thermostat open the same measurement, i felt my new thermostat opens bit lesser than earlier defective one .
