Yes, B210 Sedan & Coupe rear axle assemblies differ (just like B110). So the shock mounts are different, and are welded in the case of one of them. Swapping means a bit of fabrication. Also brakes lines.

Better to start with Sedan-to-sedan or coupe-to-coupe Axle housing swap.

The Hitachi diferentials in sedans are exactly the same as all coupe differentials & will interchange.

The rear axle assemblies should also interchange between these models.

The Australian assembled sedans from July 1976[?] used a Borg Warner rear axle assembly which is completely different so the differential will not swap.

The complete rear axle assembly, on the other hand, well I can't be sure but I believe that as long as you get the complete rear end with U bolts & mounting plates, then these should allow a complete swap.

Hopefully someone here can confirm or deny as I know that they use a different shock absorber mounting arrangement between sedans & coupes

Late 120Y struts should be fine with 180B LCAs(post 76 I think when they got 180B sized steering bits)

See here for more

i know that the crossmember will bolt up to the chassis but will i have problems connecting it to the struts?

240z, s12 gazelle, r30 skyline, 180b sss < do these all have the same manual transmissions?

sss dogleg and r30 skyline are slightly different- sss wont take as much power or torque through it as r30 box.

also the speedo cable mounts in slightly different angles, rear x memebr is slightly different from memory.

180 memebr should bolt up- not sure about the rest. changes your steering geometry a bit though- more bump steer

Hi guys i will be writing up the first 120y l20b Tech Wiki install as i progress

Although. I have a bunch of questions that arise

Will the 180b subframe, with lower control arms and castor rods connect to the 120y struts or do i need to use later model struts

Can i use a s12 gazelle transmission with the swap as i think this one is the same as the r30 skyline transmission, if not a little different

From what i have heard the 180b sss dogleg and r30 skyline use the same transmission, only difference is shift patterns.

Lastly is there any difference in 120y sedan and coupe differentials, do the mounts all line up to the same bodies
