i have had a few CA powered cars (77 Capri, S13 Silvia and now B110 Sedan) ranging from 200-400hp and the 200hp in the 1200 is lots of fun and I dont think I have really begun to enjoy it since i have not done the suspension and brakes and really started to give her hell

BUT

if i had to do it all over, I would get a NA S Spec S15 SR20VE with the 6 speed or even a L20 or KA24 with ITB's or something.. i've been thinking if the CA pops, i'm going NA :)

Clay,i am unable to comment on the conversion for road use,but can say for competitive track use i would do it again without a second thought.
The CA is a good strong motor and although mine is not highly stressed it is super reliable and very competitive in its class.
The money spent to make it all happen in my Sunny sedan was heaps less than an A or L series with comparable performance within each of there classes. This is based on personel experiance.

Enjoy

Heya guys,

I am just curious as to peoples experience with the CA18DET engines in the datto's.
Was it worth the conversion v's the money spent? Would you do it again?
I have read the wiki with regard to the 'extra' expense and issues that can be had, but it doesn't talk about the satifaction of the conversion.

Cheers

Clay
