this is info from my gregorys book.
Your 73 is a japan built 120y with jap dif and brakes.
And your 77 is australian built with borg warner dif and aus PBR brake parts
Your brake master cylinder is also diferent?

( sedan models in australia made after june 1976 are assembled in australia and some parts are diferent )

Hope this information is somehow helpful.

not true

B210 has unique parts, but early B210 with A12 will fit B110 pads.

Late B210 and early B210 with A14 can use the B310 pads.

They changed in late 75 from a 212mm to a 219mm disc
So they changed the caliper and pads to suit

Theres infact at least 3 calipers... as some late 120's had PBR brakes like a Sigma

Pics help

Hi Everyone

I have a very early 1973 Datsun 120y and need to replace the break pads and calipers.

I have 2 other Datsun 120y both from 1977, 1 of which i have stripped down to use as spares. When i went to fit the new pads and calipers from the 77 to the 73 they look different?

the pads definetly dont fit, the 73 pads are smaller than the 77 pads and the brake hose on the 77 calipers is in a different position than the 73.

Ive checked my haynes manual and theres nothing stated in there that they are different. Also looking at my early 73 120y it looks like i have to remove the struts just to get the caliper off as the 2 bolts holding it on are blocked in by the strut.

Can anyone give me any advice on this at all? im at a loss

Thanks in advance
