the S14 ande S15 SR20DE's came with VTC and are very good motors, the S15 SR20DE Autech with 6 speed is really a great NA rwd nissan motor.

That is not the SR20VE motor like mine, looks like a normal SR20DE, but uou mentioned it being a vvt, so it could be the SR20DET from the S14 which had some sort of VVT control.

awesome build! interested to see how the dash comes along..

That looks like a S14 motor, so you can use the stock S14 gearbox..

What are you doing to the motor that required 3K+ worth of work?? converted to my local currency thats the equivalent of pretty stout motor build, headwork with some parts included..

good luck and looking forward to progress

so have been back out to the shed.
a little progress has been made. dash has been cut to size. im attaching it to the original dash frame or was thinking about it anyway, still have to trim it up abit but it is on its way.

paint stripping is goin slow and steady. awaiting pay day to purchase some more.

thanks to everyone that came and cleared out my parts pile i can get back into my storage shed, for now at least

today i went down to chris milton engine development. had a chat to Sam. putting together a plan for the engine. the quote i got today without parts is $3172.98

heres some more pics of the progress.

While the motor is in for the recon, consider a set of SR16VE or N1 pistons to up the compression ratio and a set of N1 cams, if you feel that you will need more power. My biggest issue on the motor side is the induction, need to get a plan on that, maybe do a quick job on the standard intake, just swap it around and then later on fit a set of Martin Bruwer 48mm Throttles.
